11 October 08 - 11:12others say it better sometimes
I realize that I come from a conservative ideology however, I have been thinking a lot about the judgement (not guilt by association) and came upon this article by Charles Krauthammer of the Washington Post. He also is a conservative but I believe has explained it better than I could. Which is why he won the Pulitzer Prize and I can barely spell Pulitzer. Please read this article here and talk about these questions:
Are the associations we keep important? Do they shape what our ideologies are? Can we stay unaffected from our society regardless of how hard we try to fight the fight?
I look forward to your comments.
09 October 08 - 19:28Trying to figure things out
As I came home today, I was reminded of my finance degree. I look back at things and realize that we do not really understand how complicated our world has become. There are derivatives of derivatives. We find out that credit default swaps are at the bottom of AIG's collapse. I sometimes think what it would be like going back to the old gold standard days. There is a reason why we business majors are required to take psychology. The financial markets are based on the idea we are good for it. The same thing with the dollar. If one day the market goes truly south, It's A Wonderful Life will be remembered as the good times.
I am glad to hear on the news today that the G7 is getting together for a summit this weekend as to come out with a unified plan. I heard today that the average bear market drops about 30 or so percent and we are at almost 40 as of today. ...

However, the money was not given to schools, it was given to radical groups to in turn pair with educational institutions to help bring this reform. I do not think that Obama is a ...

06 October 08 - 22:24And so it begins
I have heard from a friend that this is cathartic so here it goes. I will let it be known that I am concerned with the lack of depth of thought we have in our day to day lives. I look around and think about whether or not people understand what the effects of their actions or words can be. People are focused (hopefully) on the elections right now and I hope people are taking the time to cognitively grasp both men envolved. I don't mean whether or not McCain is the third Bush. Every man is his own man and I certainly think Mr. McCain's past serving our country has shaped him uniquely. What I mean is do we know what is at the core of both men. What are the guiding principals that they will follow? What I do know about someone who has been in public service for many years is what they are not. I may never truly know the person but I know that they are not a bigot, racist etc...Generally ...
