And so it begins

I have heard from a friend that this is cathartic so here it goes.  I will let it be known that I am concerned with the lack of depth of thought we have in our day to day lives.   I look around and think about whether or not people understand what the effects of their actions or words can be.  People are focused (hopefully) on the elections right now and I hope people are taking the time to cognitively grasp both men envolved.  I don't mean whether or not McCain is the third Bush.  Every man is his own man and I certainly think Mr. McCain's past serving our country has shaped him uniquely.  What I mean is do we know what is at the core of both men.  What are the guiding principals that they will follow?   What I do know about someone who has been in public service for many years is what they are not.  I may never truly know the person but I know that they are not a bigot, racist etc...Generally a politician's life is fairly transparent.   If something untoward is to be known, there is nothing that person can do to keep it down.  Especially if the other party has a stake in taking power.   What I do not know about Mr. Obama is what he won't talk about because it seems he believes that it is not important to me.   Being my own man with my own individuality, I don't appreciate someone telling me what I need to know.   Especially if I am going to trust that person with the full faith of my country.   It saddens me to think that people are more inclined to follow tying one man to another because that man may not let the liberal ideologies rain free.   People I believe are following Obama not because of any original thought, because his ideologies are tried and true democratic and sometimes socialist ideologies, I believe people are going to vote solely because of their hatred for another human being.  A president has the final say over our military, but our military isn't the primary concern right now.  Our congress which is in control of our oversight is run by the people who say it is all his fault.  If the democrats were so worried about the regulation, much could have been done when McCain brought it to the attention of the democrats a couple of years ago.  I want us to think indivitually not become lemmings who are about to go on a path where checks and balances are checked and balanced by a party who would control our entire government if a couple of justices retire.  Absolute power corrupts absolutely as the adage goes.  I believe we should spend more time contemplating these thoughts before election day.   Much more rides on this than can be seen....

Welcome to the blogosphere. I’m glad you’re here, good buddy. I’m posting a welcome to you on my site, now.

To the issues:
What is it, exactly, that you feel Obama will not talk about? I’m unclear after reading the post.

I take issue with your characterization that people are moving toward Obama because they hate Bush. I think that has been true in other elections, but in this case, the people are connecting with his message of Hope and Change. Otherwise, he would not draw the crowds he draws. People believe in him.

One thing we agree upon (and this always happens to both parties) is that the Democrats in Congress have not, heretofore, made the changes they needed to once they achieved a majority. So sad.

Welcome to the blogosphere. As a conservative, I hope you brought your kevlar. ;)

“I believe people are going to vote solely because of their hatred for another human being.”

Yes, there are a lot of people with that mindset. A look around the blogosphere or the message boards at the Springfield News-Leader make that very clear. There’s no denying it.

Unfortunately, there are people voting against Obama for hate issues as well although they’re usually less obvious about it. Racism is a very real factor.

Again, good initial post. I look forward to seeing more.

Welcome to the blogosphere, where we over-analyze everything, and hopefully don’t drive anyone to violence.

One thing to ask yourself is why the two major parties have convinced everyone that they own our votes. Why is it even acceptable to criticize someone for voting for a candidate that shares their principles just because that candidate isn’t one of the anointed ones?

There are 6 candidates running for President of the United States… How many have you heard of on the TV?

Sorry.. This was my first post…

Plus I don’t like having to check the boxes to hide my email.
